Welcome... to the spiral of tragedy. You wake up flat on your back with a pounding headache, lying in a location you don't recognize. Perhaps you're on the pavement of a (strangely empty) city you've never seen, on the steps of a shrine, or lying on the cold, tiled floors of a school building or a hospital. Wherever you are, you don't remember how you got here. Somewhere on your person, you find a note: "Your goal: avoid triggering the loss conditions. You have (x) days and (y) loops available. Survive one loop and be rewarded. Roles for this script will be assigned shortly. Good luck." Before long, you discover that you are not alone. Some people seem as lost and confused as you are, yet others seem to know what's going on. Some brief discussion sheds some light on your situation: You are at the mercy of someone known only as the "Mastermind." This is the beginning of a new "game," with a new "script" that they want to see the lot of you play out. Right now, no one knows what that script entails, or which players the Mastermind intends to pick for the roles they've created. All that the previous players will say is that the Mastermind is partial to murder. As a player, your job is to either follow along with any role the Mastermind may assign you, or to try to prevent whichever sick tragedy the Mastermind has planned for this game. If the players can stop the Mastermind's plans for however many days this game's note entails, they win. Should they fail, time will reset - loop - back to the first day of the game, at which point the players are to try again using whatever knowledge they may have gained from the first loop. If the players fail every available loop, they lose. You, along with the other newcomers, decide that this all sounds insane. As the previous players watch you coldly, you all agree that this will be an easy game to win - all you have to do is wait out the days together, and you'll be free. After all, why would any of you kill anyone else just because some psychopath no one has ever seen says so? It all goes just as you planned it... until you find the corpse. "A body has been discovered. Loss condition triggered. Initiating loop reset..." You wake up flat on your back with a pounding headache, lying in a location you faintly recognize. Somewhere on your person, you find a note: "Your goal: avoid triggering the loss conditions. You have (x) days and (y-1) loops available. Survive one loop and be rewarded. Good luck." |
